Peter Fontanes, a Puerto Rican-Dominican who was raised in Harlem, is a graduate of the University of Chicago and he also went to Antioch Law School in Washington, DC. In 1991, he founded Paylexx Telecommunication which became the first full service Minority owned Telephone Company in the country. In 1999, he diverted the company into an agency program selling bundled services as an agent for some of the largest voice and data companies in the world. Last year he consolidated his companies under The Fontanes Group, a Construction and Telecommunication company.

He is the National Chair of the National Association of Hispanics in Information Technology and Telecommunication which he founded.
Among some of Mr. Fontanes achievements are:

New York Democratic Party District Leader West Harlem and County Committee Vice Chair
Founder and Chair - National Association of Hispanics in Real Estate and Construction
Delegate - Democratic Party National Committee Convention
Founder and Chair - Mission 51 (A pro-Puerto Rican Statehood Movement)
